On Wednesday 18th July, a squad of boys from the First and Second XI travelled to Oxford Falls to compete in the St Pius tournament. The tournament comprised four games against teams from schools and clubs.
Grammar won the first game against St Pius 1st XI 1-0. The boys approached the second game against The King’s School with confidence. Matthew Wahby and Adam O’Connor scored in the second half for a 2-0 win. The third game was against Manly United U16. Unfortunately fatigue took its toll and a lapse in concentration saw Manly take the win 1-0. The final game resulted in a 3-0 win against St Pius U16, with Matthew Wahby and Adam O’Connor scoring and Richard Palumbo taking a penalty for the third.
Overall, the boys played well, and enjoyed the opportunity for some game play as part of their preparation for the second half of the GPS season.
