Open Day March 2018

On Thursday, 15 March we held the first of our two annual Open Days.

After an online marketing campaign we worried that visitors would pack out Big School, so we welcomed prospective parents and boys in the recently refurbished Alastair Mackerras Theatre. We were not disappointed with numbers: some 350 to 400 people came on the day, a cross-section of parents and boys from all over Sydney. They were met at the College Street gate by Mr Khusid’s jazz big band, and (band excepted!) they saw the School in action as per any normal day. Dr Malpass and I spoke to them about life at Grammar, and they saw the Grammarphones perform. In addition, they heard from Prefect Ethan Tsui, who spoke eloquently about his busy school life. After the talk visitors went on a tour of the School – there were six groups, each led by staff and boys, with current parents also in attendance. As always, our boys spoke honestly and enthusiastically about life at Grammar and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Our next Open Day is scheduled for Thursday, 23 August, and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
