The fourth and final co-education day for the year, for our Year 6 boys, was held with the St Catherine’s Year 6 girls on Thursday 7 November.
The day known as ‘Specialists Day’ was designed around the key curriculum areas of:
- Art – Newspaper Fashion Parade
- Drama – Theatre Sports
- Music – Singing and Body Percussion
- Spanish – Spanish Dancing
The boys and girls enjoyed rotating through each of the activities with a focus on generating pieces of work through collaboration and creativity, whilst under time restrictions. The outcomes were truly incredible! The students then shared a BBQ lunch together and finished with an afternoon of sports activities.
The day capped off what has been a rewarding co-education programme between the two Schools. The boys and girls have worked together in a variety of activities including:
- Term 1 – Leadership
- Term 2 – Maths Problem Solving and Engineering
- Term 3 – Write a Book in a Day
- Term 4 – Specialists Day
We hope that the programme is the start of meaningful relationships built between the students and look forward to it continuing next year.
