Year 5 Boys Make a Difference (MAD Challenge)

Towards the end of Term 1, boys in Year 5 were asked to undertake an independent project designed to make a positive change in their suburb.

The boys were very enthusiastic as they were researching issues that particularly related to their needs. They included installing local pedestrian crossings, offering voluntary rubbish removal, repairing sports amenities and initiating interesting community activities.

The boys wrote a formal letter to their local council and they had the chance to persuade other members of the School at an ‘expo’ in the Hall. The assignment was a most rewarding experience for everyone involved.
