So far this year in the Art Department at Edgecliff Preparatory School, we have begun learning about the life and work of Margaret Preston.
As part of this study the boys have been making studies of her wood block prints, including Sydney Harbour, 1925 and Mosman Bridge, 1927. Beginning 11 October, Preston’s work will feature at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in an exhibition titled Dangerously Modern: Australian Women Artists in Europe 1890–1940.
