On Saturday 1 May, Cowper Field was host to 700 players in the U10 and U12 Sevens Rugby Competition.
It was a glorious sunny morning for rugby and a total of 41 matches were played.
St Ives boys were excited, as always, for the start of the rugby season and there was a pleasing display of sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst the teams.
Our First XV also took on Knox Grammar School on Cowper 1 and enjoyed the hospitality of a post-match BBQ, the first that the School has have been able to offer since COVID-19.
Throughout the School, boys have great enthusiasm for the pace and skill required for Sevens (seven-a-side) where seven players, play seven-minute halves, and are often observed arranging their own games during recess and lunch, or whenever the opportunity arises.
