‘Semana de la Cultura Española’

All things Spanish were on show at Edgecliff Preparatory School last week with our ‘Semana de la Cultura Española’.

From Year 4 flamenco dancing to Years 5 and 6 cooking traditional Spanish recipes, it was a joy to see so many boys involved and engaging in the activities. On top of these, Concert B was full of Spanish music, and there was a great Art Exhibition ‘Mira Mirujín’.

In addition, there was a raffle to provide monetary support to people in need in Valencia (Spain) after the horrible flooding, which was very well supported by the community. All the money collected will be sent to a musical association which has lost everything; from pianos, music scores, stands, rehearsal rooms and instruments. This music society is core in Valencian society and many adults and children learn and practise their music there as part of a long tradition of musicians in the city.

The enjoyment and atmosphere brought into the School could not have been possible without all the families involved with the decorations and great food provided.
