Having Fun with the Annual National Simultaneous Story Time

On 21 May, Edgecliff boys and staff again joined in with this national celebration of storytelling, through the National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).

This year’s featured book, The Truck Cat, is a story about cats and humans, immigration and identity, and homes lost and found. With illustrations by multi-award-winning artist Danny Snell and words by award-winning new voice Deborah Frenkel, this is a book to inspire kindness and compassion in young children everywhere.

I love stories! Look at our beautiful trucks!

This year, the Infants boys and Year 3 enjoyed a reading and a production of the picture book in our School Library.

NSS is a nationwide event organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), which takes place annually on the third Wednesday of May. The purpose of NSS is to promote the value of reading and literacy.

Edgecliff places significant value on developing a passion for reading in all boys, and we join this excellent initiative each year with our Infants boys and staff.

Thank you to Mrs Tunks for organising the event, and Mr Bayliss, Mrs Pearce, Mrs Wormald, Ms O’Leary, Mrs Snelson, Mr Palmer, and Ms Tess for dressing up in character for the boys.
