The Year 6 boys have been busy learning about fractions through some engaging hands-on activities.
Through their experience of these manipulative activities, they are deepening their understanding of these numbers. They are going beyond simply memorising the process of how to add them, by learning how to explain what they are doing. Building pattern block constructions and drawing their solutions on isometric paper to solve fractions problems was an excellent thinking and learning experience.
