Australian Economics Olympiad

Seven of the twenty-seven pupils from Forms V and VI who sat the Australian Economics Olympiad on Saturday 23 May were placed in the top 40 nationally, progressing to the second round held on Saturday 13 June.

Working in teams of five, they researched and presented on whether recent changes to Australia’s immigration policy would maximise national welfare.

Following this round, Yesung Cho (VI) has been selected to represent Australia, alongside four other pupils, at the International Economics Olympiad during the July holidays. While the team will not travel to China, they will participate remotely from UNSW. Congratulations to Yesung on this outstanding achievement.
